  15.      _gggg_eeee_tttt_tttt_xxxx_tttt retrieves a text string from a message file in the directory
  16.      _////_uuuu_ssss_rrrr_////_llll_iiii_bbbb_////_llll_oooo_cccc_aaaa_llll_eeee_////_l_o_c_a_l_e_////_LLLL_CCCC______MMMM_EEEE_SSSS_SSSS_AAAA_GGGG_EEEE_SSSS.  The directory name _l_o_c_a_l_e
  17.      corresponds to the language in which the text strings are written; see
  18.      _ssss_eeee_tttt_llll_oooo_cccc_aaaa_llll_eeee(3C) and _eeee_nnnn_vvvv_iiii_rrrr_oooo_nnnn(5).

  20.      _m_s_g_f_i_l_e   Name of the file from which to retrieve _m_s_g_n_u_m.  The name can
  21.                be up to 14 characters in length, but may not contain either \0
  22.                (_NNNN_UUUU_LLLL_LLLL) or the characters _//// (slash) or _::::  (colon).

  24.      _m_s_g_n_u_m    Sequence number of the string to retrieve from _m_s_g_f_i_l_e.  The
  25.                strings in _m_s_g_f_i_l_e are numbered sequentially from 1 to _n, where
  26.                _n is the number of strings in the file.

  28.      _d_f_l_t__m_s_g  Default string to be displayed if _gggg_eeee_tttt_tttt_xxxx_tttt fails to retrieve
  29.                _m_s_g_n_u_m from _m_s_g_f_i_l_e.  Nongraphic characters must be represented
  30.                as alphabetic escape sequences.

  32.      The text string to be retrieved is in the file _m_s_g_f_i_l_e, created by the
  33.      _mmmm_kkkk_mmmm_ssss_gggg_ssss(1) utility and installed under the directory

  35.      by the environment variable _LLLL_CCCC______MMMM_EEEE_SSSS_SSSS_AAAA_GGGG_EEEE_SSSS.  If _LLLL_CCCC______MMMM_EEEE_SSSS_SSSS_AAAA_GGGG_EEEE_SSSS is not set, the
  36.      environment variable _LLLL_AAAA_NNNN_GGGG will be used.  If _LLLL_AAAA_NNNN_GGGG is not set, the files
  37.      containing the strings are under the directory
